We are looking for an all-star Project Estimator to join our Beltsville, MD team! Our ideal candidate will be highly skilled in estimating commercial, industrial, and municipal projects.
As a Project Estimator at Fidelity Mechanical Services, your primary responsibilities will be:
- Performing all aspects of developing preliminary and/or definitive detailed estimates and proposals for labor, materials, and equipment associated with mechanical construction projects encompassing HVAC sheet metal.
- Obtaining and evaluating vendor and subcontractor pricing for compliance with project specifications and drawings.
- Attending pre-bid meetings, verifying site conditions, and interfacing with Owners, Developers, and General Contractors.
- Managing the bid preparation and formal written proposal process in its entirety.
- Electronically maintaining records of all working documents and data to back up estimates and proposals.
- Assisting, organizing, and prioritizing work in conjunction with sales engineers.
- Communicating with internal & external customers professionally and effectively.
- Performing job site walks as needed by other team members.
- Building and maintaining rapport and positive working relations with field, office, and management.
As a Project Estimator at Fidelity Mechanical Services, you should have the following qualifications, knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- 3 to 5 years of preparing estimates and proposals for commercial, industrial, and municipal mechanical projects using computerized estimation and digital takeoff software.
- Must have the ability to provide a complete commercial mechanical construction estimate and proposal for either plan/spec or design/build projects, including plumbing, HVAC, and sheet metal work.
- Must be knowledgeable with reading and interpreting blueprints and/or specifications.
- Ability to survey mechanical systems, and interpret drawings, equipment, and job conditions.
- Ability to obtain quotes from vendors on materials, equipment, and lead times.
- Ability to understand/coordinate mechanical construction with other building trades.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines with an emphasis on multitasking.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Computer literate in Word, Excel, and Outlook in combination with strong written and oral communication.

Wage Range:
- Salary of $60,000 - $85,000 per year
- Commensurate with experience. This range represents a general guideline; however, a number of factors are considered when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
