We are looking for an Estimator to join our team in Eastern, Pa.

 

 

General Summary:

Estimators are responsible for evaluating all aspects of bids to develop comprehensive and competitive proposals.  They are accountable for each project’s budget, oversight, and schedule.  They analyze each project’s overall technical requirements, including drawings and specifications, factoring in contractual, safety, environmental, and quality requirements to estimate the cost of labor and material and the schedule to complete the project.  

For the creation of thorough proposals and bids, they must be able to integrate geographic locations, scheduling, union/wage requirements, the scope of the work required, customer and bond requirements, special requirements, contracts, and budgeting.  They identify the unique risks and specific project challenges related to geographic regions, manpower concerns, and labor agreements.  

They work with all departments, when necessary, especially with senior management, to produce required bid documents.  They are responsible for the overall coordination and successful completion of projects from start to finish—within budget, on schedule, and meeting all technical and contractual requirements.  An emphasis is placed on producing high quality products while prioritizing safety. 

They work closely with employees and customers to ensure success.  They must understand the level of quality and performance that leads to customer satisfaction and future opportunities.  They are encouraged to utilize creativity and accept ownership for their accomplishments. 

  

General Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and maintain all necessary requirements of the position.
  • Voluntarily and immediately report Human Resources, safety, environmental, or any other issues or incidents.
  • Complete other tasks, within scope of reason, not listed in the job description.
  • Follow electronic and paper document management procedures.
  • Attend professional seminars and perform industry research to promote professional development.
  • Supervise personnel; assist with on-the-job training; enforce Company and customer policies, perform employee reviews, onboarding, discipline, and terminations; reviews and approves employees’ daily time reports.
  • Coordinate with other management to ensure successful project completion.
  • Perform incident investigations to determine root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent future incidents.



Prerequisites:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering preferred or at least (2) years of project management experience.
  • Two years of civil or concrete construction experience preferred.
  • Two years of estimating experience preferred. 
  • Two years of experience with ECMS and Pa Turnpike construction preferred.
