Line cooks learn to be head cooks, sous chef, kitchen manager and executive chef. Power’s Inn and Pub serves everything from pub food to chef’s creations. The Barn at Power’s hosts weddings, retirements, and other events both buffet and full plated for over 100 people.
Our entry level positions are “Host†for the front of the house and “Kitchen Hand†for the back of the house.
The Host greets our guests and escorts them to their table. Duties include taking and tracking reservations, bussing and turning over tables, answering the phone, taking carry out orders as well as assisting servers run food, maintain front cleanliness and related tasks. Hosts must have excellent customer service skills and appearance. Hosts can move on to food running and server positions. Host generally is a minimum wage position.
Kitchen hands wash dishes, stock inventories, collect refuse and assist cooks with other tasks as needed. Kitchen hands can move on to become cooks-in-training then to line cook. Power's starts our kitchen hands at $16/hr.
