ENGINEER II – ACOUSTICS & VIBRATIONS

 

Job Description:

Serves as testing coordinator for all Mechanical Systems and Acoustic testing by establishing and maintaining testing schedule. Review, identify and advise on certification issues associated with assigned projects to include proper compliance with stated procedures and regulations. Develops and/or analyzes intermediate level engineering designs in support of interior completions or modifications. Serve as functional advisor providing technical guidance and disposition to engineering and production on matters related to acoustics and vibrations. Analyze complex features of the aircraft completion and apply best practices of acoustics analysis. Perform high frequency data processing and signal analysis of acoustic data. Assists in pre-project contract discussions on appropriate contractual acoustic target values. Prepares and presents intermediate level presentations. Develops and/or analyzes 2D drawings and 3D models in support of interior completions or modifications. Coordinates design solutions with regulatory approval authorities. Mentors less experienced colleagues and facilitates growth personally and professionally. Independently plan, schedule, and perform computations/analyses. Support test and high frequency data collection activities. Review all results from assigned tasks and determine if outputs are complete, correct, integrated with project objectives, and adequately documented. Conducts on-ground and in-flight sound survey’s utilizing sound level meters and associated test equipment in accordance with ANSI, ASTM and ISO standards. Prepares intermediate test plans in support of interior completion or modification regulatory compliance. Interprets test data and prepares reports in support of interior completion or modification regulatory compliance and customer specifications. Attends design and customer meetings and provides technical guidance where required. Devise new approaches to problem solutions.

 

Job Requirements:

 

1.       Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.

 

2.       Five (5) years of progressive experience working with aerospace engineering design or analysis.

 

3.       Other education and experience must include:

·         Aerospace, aeronautical or mechanical engineering, and acoustics

·         Coursework or project work in vibration or acoustics.

·         Application of acoustic materials and their properties.

·         Vibration or acoustics engineering principles.

·         Aircraft installations.

·         FAA/EASA Part 25 regulations.

·         2D/3D Computer Aided Drafting/Design.

 

4. Must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
