The position requires excellent communication skills - both written and verbal, along with the ability to support the F&B experience at PSSC. This is a full-time position required to work at the property. This position requires non-traditional working hours which includes working nights and weekends and holidays.

Job Summary:

The Water Park Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is responsible for providing immediate medical care and first aid to guests and team members in need of assistance within the water park premises. As a crucial member of the park's safety team, the EMT will play a pivotal role in ensuring the well-being and safety of all park visitors. This role requires quick thinking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle emergency situations effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

1.    Medical Response:

  Respond promptly to medical emergencies, accidents, and injuries within the water park.

  Assess the nature and severity of injuries or illnesses and provide appropriate first aid.

 Administer basic life support (CPR) or automated external defibrillator (AED) when necessary.

 Stabilize and prepare patients for transport to a medical facility, if required.

Collaborate with local emergency services when advanced medical care is needed.

2.    Guest Interaction:

Maintain a friendly and approachable demeanor while providing assistance to distressed guests.

 Communicate effectively with guests, providing clear and reassuring instructions during emergencies.

Offer guidance on safety procedures and park regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.

3.    Documentation and Reporting:

Accurately document all medical incidents, treatments, and patient information in accordance with established protocols.

 Prepare incident reports and maintain confidentiality of medical records.

  Communicate incident details to the Park Safety Supervisor and assist with follow-up investigations.

4.    Equipment and Supplies:

 Regularly inspect and maintain first aid supplies, medical equipment, and AEDs.

Ensure that all medical equipment is in good working order and readily accessible.

 Report any equipment issues and restock supplies as needed.

5.    Training and Certification:

 Stay current with EMT certifications, licensure, and CPR/AED training.

Participate in regular training sessions and safety drills to maintain readiness for emergencies.

6.    Team Collaboration:

 Work closely with lifeguards, security personnel, and other park staff to ensure a coordinated response to incidents.

Provide assistance and guidance to fellow team members as needed.

7.    Customer Service:

 Strive to exceed guest expectations by offering compassionate care and support.

 Address guest inquiries and concerns related to medical matters professionally and empathetically.

Qualifications:

  • Valid EMT certification and state licensure.

  • Current CPR and AED certifications.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations.

  • Physical stamina and the ability to stand, bend, and lift as required.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, especially in an aquatic or amusement park setting, is a plus.

  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as required during the water park's operating season.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach.
