Position: Employment & Work Placement Facilitator, Pathways to Employment
Hours: Full time- 35 hrs per week
Location: Hybrid: In-person at our Vancouver office and virtual
Compensation: $46,000 - $52,500 annualized

Pacific Immigrant Resources Society (PIRS) is a community-based, non-profit organization serving immigrant and refugee women and their young children since 1975. PIRS delivers accessible, inclusive, low-barrier programs for immigrant and refugee women and their children that create a sense of belonging, meaningful participation and leadership.
The Employment & Work Placement Facilitator supports immigrant and refugee women in preparing for career development and advancement through targeted training, workplace experience, and participant support within the Pathways to Employment program. This position focuses on employment counselling, program participant work placements, and career readiness.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Employment Counselling & Facilitation
Provide personalized, one-on-one employment support, including career counselling, job search guidance, resume assistance, and interview preparation to help participants achieve their career goals
Conduct assessments to identify participants' needs and goals, tailoring support and resources to empower their employment journey
Organize and facilitate employment circles for women, fostering an inclusive and supportive space for networking, skill-building, and career development
Coordinate networking and resume screening events, connecting participants with industry professionals and potential employers to enhance job opportunities
Work Placement Coordination
Coordinate and oversee the practicum process, including securing placements, managing contracts and payments, and conducting on-site visits to ensure successful student experiences
Provide ongoing support and mentorship to students during their practicums, monitoring progress and addressing challenges to foster positive learning and career development
Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, alumni, and industry partners, staying informed on employment trends to connect students with meaningful career opportunities
Reporting
Collect, track, and maintain accurate client information to ensure compliance with funder and organizational requirements
Monitor participant progress and contribute to data reporting, using surveys and statistical analysis to measure program impact
Maintain detailed documentation of client interactions and activities, ensuring accurate and organized electronic records
Administration
Manage and maintain organized program records, ensuring accurate documentation for future planning and evaluation
Support the group interview process to select and onboard participants for program cohorts
Collaborate on the design and creation of program materials, ensuring they align with funder requirements and organizational guidelines
JOB SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Education, Social Work, Human & Social Development, or the Social Sciences preferred)
3+ years of experience in group and individual employment counselling and facilitation, ideally within childcare, social services, or educational settings
Working knowledge of the childcare sector and local labour market conditions; licensed Early Childhood Educator or Early Childhood Educator Assistant preferred
An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered
Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
Experience in relationship building and management with stakeholders, partners, participants
Proficiency in data entry and reporting systems is an asset
CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to adapt and learn quickly with a growth mindset
Experience working with immigrant &/or refugee women and an understanding of their unique needs
Excellent verbal and written language skills; additional language skills are an asset
Demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed approaches
Ability to work in a team environment and independently
Possession of non-judgmental and genuinely positive attitudes (culture, religion, race, gender, sexuality, special needs, etc.) and freedom from stereotypes
Passion for inclusivity and diversity, and interest in being part of a multicultural team is an asset
Attitudes and values aligned with the goals and philosophy of PIRS
Proficient in using various software and digital tools (Google Workspace, Asana, Slack, MS Office)
WORKING CONDITIONS
This is a full-time (35 hr/wk) position based on project funding
Occasional weekend and evening work may be required
Ability to travel between programs across Vancouver and other Lower Mainland communities
Ability to work both virtually and in person required
Program delivery activities may require a moderate level of physical fitness to carry out duties of the position
Clean criminal record check required
