KCDS is seeking applicants to fill a   Finance Administrator position.  The successful candidate would be based out of our Nelson head quarters, but could also work out of one of our offices in Trail or Castlegar.

We are currently seeking an individual with exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail to join our Finance Department.

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Finance Administrator is responsible for day-to-day financial administration, including accounts payable, financial supports claims processing, and other finance functions as needed. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Duties

• Process vendor invoices including posting of transactions, verifying financial data for use in maintaining accounts payable records, and processing payments. 

• Ensure the accuracy of the organization’s financial documents for payment, auditing and tax purposes by maintaining meticulous records. 

• Verify receipt of goods or services prior to issuing payments to vendors. 

• Maintain financial supports claims database, tracking all activity related to claims processing with a strong attention to detail.  

• Process financial supports claims accurately and in a timely manner - working cross-functionally as needed - ensuring all required supporting documentation is included and properly organized. 

• Manage and reconcile petty cash. 

• Answer questions and assist stakeholders as requested. 

Other

• File supporting accounting documentation electronically according to internal filing system.

• Provide other clerical support as necessary to ensure accurate transactional data in the accounts payable and financials supports claims processing functions.

• Completing other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Analytical and problem0solving skills
  • Superior attention to detail with exceptional organization skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently
  • Time management and prioritization skills

 Education and Experience

  • Diploma in accounting or equivalent experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Sage Intacct accounting software
  • Knowledge of data privacy standards
  • Minimum of two years of finance administration experience preferred

 Additional requirements

  • Must consent to a Criminal Record Check as required
  • Some evening and weekend work may be required
  • Travel to other KCDS/WorkBC locations may be required

Wage:  $26.25 / hour with exceptional benefits (staff are eligible for benefits when working 21 hours / week, after the probation period)

Position Type:  30 - 35 hours / work
