Job Summary

Odyssey House Louisiana, Inc. is seeking a full-time Electronic Health Record & Business Intelligence Specialist for its Administration Department. The schedule for the position is Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. The Electronic Health Record Specialist (EHR Specialist) monitors and maintains all computerized data collection systems and software used by the agency, including (but not limited to): Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Practice Management (PM) Systems, Programmatic Data Management Systems (Microsoft Enterprise Suite including Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate, etc.), and Administrative Data Systems (Food Services, ATDMS/Microsoft Access, and third party reporting software, etc.). The EHR Specialist position works closely with all agency Departments/Programs to ensure that all varying data collection activities are being completed in a timely and appropriate manner. The EHR Specialist will assist with reporting of agency trends, creating and delivering weekly reports, administrating the EHR system, assessing user and agency process requirements, analyzing structure, workflow, and data to support user needs, evaluating and recommending solutions and implementing them to support the strategic vision. The EHR Specialist will assist in coordinating and completing projects involving the plan, design, and implementation of the EHR and third-party software applications. The EHR Specialist must be familiar with data specific contract requirements for all Departments/Programs. The EHR Specialist will with addressing needs from team members, vendors, and other Department/Program staff.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

It is the duty and responsibility of the EHR & BI Specialist to:

·        Ensure that all HIPAA and related security measures are followed at all times;

·        Respond to EHR and PM System Tickets to troubleshoot all issues;

·        analyze and report trends;

·        create customized reports/dashboards to deliver metrics to management team using PowerBI;

·        create and modify reports for all Departments/Programs, including Administration (ex. Accounting and Billing);

·        create and recommend customized dashboards through Power BI and other relevant systems;

·        communicate critical EHR information in real time;

·        customize EHR and PM System to improve workflows and prevent user error for all Departments/Programs;

·        work with Program Managers and staff to create, test, and implement EHR and PM customizations;

·        work with Compliance and Quality Assurance Director and Community Health Center staff to ensure Federally Qualified Health Center data and reporting requirements are met, especially UDS Measures;

·        add service lines within the EHR System;

·        assist with new staff orientation both remotely and in-person;

·        assist in the development and implementation of staff training both remotely and in-person;

·        train staff on proper usage and utilization of computerized data systems, as well as other supporting software such as Microsoft Office Suite;

·        insert staff signatures into the EHR System;

·        attend and participate in Billing Meeting and Operations Meeting as requested;

·        work with other departments such as Accounting and Human Resources in a cooperative manner and be responsive to the needs of these departments as appropriate;

·        be available for audits and assist with corrective actions;

·        meet with team and staff members in person as requested or deemed appropriate and;

·        perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications and Skills

Required:

Minimum qualifications include the following:

·        Bachelor’s Degree in related field

·        At least 2 years of data analytics experience

·        At least 1 year of EHR and Business Intelligence experience

·        Proficient in MS Office Suite and Office 365

·        Strong data comprehension and reporting skills

·       Strong writing skills

 

Preferred:

Preferred qualifications include the following:

·        Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Technology, Statistics, or Computer Science/Engineering

·        At least 1 year of healthcare or public health experience

·       Microsoft PowerBI reporting and dashboard development tool experience
