JOB SUMMARY

The Electrical Technician is responsible for assisting in the construction, installation, wiring, and maintenance of electrical systems for wastewater treatment systems. The Electrical Technician reports to the Lead Installation Technician. This position works closely with the WS team to ensure the delivery of a quality product that aligns with project goals and deadlines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Performs basic wiring and electrical tasks
  • Works with PLC controls and troubleshoot issues with PLC equipment
  • Inspects and troubleshoots electrical equipment and components for the purpose of restoring equipment to operating condition
  • Reads and interprets drawings, schematics, specifications, and written instructions
  • Instrumentation commissioning and calibration
  • Communicates effectively with supervisors, and occasionally clients, regarding job status, job requirements, and possible issues related to a particular project
  • Maintains quality records including, but not limited to, logbooks and task punch lists
  • Complies with quality housekeeping and safety requirements, including all federal, state, municipal, and other applicable regulatory agency codes and mandates
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by participating in activities such as attending educational workshops, obtaining certification(s), participating in company organized events, reviewing professional publications, establishing networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Performs special projects as assigned by manager
  • Adheres to company policies and procedures
  • While not traveling, you will be working with the production

TRAINING, EDUCATION, & EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Related work experience with industrial-grade equipment
  • Apprentice or Journeyman electrical certification is desired but not required
  • Comparable combination of experience and education

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Must maintain a valid Virginia driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to local authorities and ProChem insurance carriers.

Due to the physical demands of the position, the Electrical Technician must maintain himself/herself in good condition.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

Visits to worksites will require the use of personal protective equipment, and there will be exposure to loud noise levels that may require protective gear

This position requires work in a variety of conditions, including both indoors and outdoor activities during a variety of weather conditions.  The individual will be exposed to noise from machinery and a variety of odors.  Work hours will vary, and overtime hours will be required based upon the needs of the project.

Travel, including overnight stay is required and may at times be extensive due to customer requirement.

The position requires moderate activity with bending, stooping, lifting, and ladder work.  Individuals in this position will be working around electricity, water, plumbing equipment, and a variety of chemicals used within the wastewater treatment systems.
