Electrical Engineer

Summary: 

Our Company is the leader in designing, developing, and implementing high-energy laser systems and processes.  We are seeking an electrical or computer engineer who will be responsible for the development of components of automated processing equipment and high-energy laser systems.

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Report directly to the Engineering Manager.
  • Perform engineering projects concerning the development and implementation of LSPT processing services and equipment.
  • Design, prototype and validate printed circuit boards and embedded systems.
  • Develop software within the Windows environment that allows target systems to perform necessary functions.
  • Develop hardware and software to establish communications between different sub-systems.
  • Perform all assigned functions in accordance with the requirements of the LSPT Quality Management System.
  • Ensure analyses and data are accurate and are performed in accordance with appropriate engineering standards using the calibrated equipment.
  • Conduct experiments and/or validation testing to support designs.
  • Perform analysis of designs using FMEA techniques when required.
  • Support LSP Technologies’ Mission, Vision, and Goals.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience with industrial machine design
  • Experience with PCB design software.  Experience with EAGLE preferred.
  • Experience with embedded hardware and software development.  Experience with machine software design using the Windows operating system preferred.
  • Experience with developing hardware and software to implement communications.  Experience with RS-232 and Ethernet preferred.
  • Experience with source control software.  Experience with Visual Studio Team Services preferred.
  • Experience with ISO 9000 or equivalent quality systems
  • Some task/project management experience.  Experience with Microsoft Project preferred.
  • Advanced presentation and written skills.

 

Education/Experience:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • At least 2 years of experience
  • US Citizen, able to qualify for United States Department of Defense secret clearance
