Education & Training Coordinator

Kelowna, BC Temporary $50395.17-$61613.73/year

CMHA Kelowna is seeking a full-time Education & Training Coordinator for a 12-month term and offers 37.5 hours a week, with a typical work week of Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm with occasional work on evenings and weekends.

 

WHO IS AN EDUCATION & TRAINING COORDINATOR?

As a key member of the People & Culture team, the Education & Training Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that our staff have the training they need to thrive in their positions. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering impactful training programs, driving onboarding excellence, managing accreditation, and providing vital administrative support. You’ll play a central role in aligning training initiatives with organizational goals and fostering a culture of continuous learning.

 

WHAT DOES AN EDUCATION & TRAINING COORDINATOR DO?

Onboarding and Orientation 

·         Coordinate the onboarding and orientation process for all new and internal hires, ensuring a consistent and positive employee experience. 

·         Track and monitor onboarding progress and training completion within the first 90 days of employment, maintaining accurate documentation and reports. 

·         Develop and maintain onboarding materials, checklists, and communications 

·         Partner with the Manager of People & Culture, hiring managers, and Team Leads to ensure new employees have the tools, resources, and information needed  

·         Identify opportunities to improve the onboarding experience through feedback collection and process review 

 

Training Facilitation & Accreditation

·      Manage scheduling, participant registration, and communication for training sessions

·      Coordinate logistics for training programs, including venue setup and online platform management

·      Communicate with partners, including sponsors and trainers, regarding program specifics and requirements

·      Manage course accreditation submissions and renewals for both internal and external training programs

Course Development & Maintenance

·      Act as the Learning Management Software (LMS) administrator, overseeing course management, learner support, and troubleshooting

·      Provide administrative and logistical support in planning and executing training programs

·      Offer constructive feedback to improve course structure and delivery, enhancing the effectiveness of training initiatives

·      Collect and analyze participant feedback to evaluate training outcomes and implement necessary improvements

·      Monitor and report on the implementation, progress, and success of training initiatives by tracking registrant data and program metrics

Collaboration

·      Support the Community Education Coordinator with administration as requested

·      Work collaboratively across multiple departments (e.g., People & Culture, Fund Development, Events, Communications, Community Education, and Finance) to ensure cohesive and efficient operations

·      Foster interdepartmental communication to align training needs, client expectations, and organizational goals

Performs other related duties as assigned.

YOUR STRENGTHS & EXPERIENCE:

·      Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or a related field required

·      Minimum 2 years’ combined experience in human resources and/or learning & development

·      Criminal Record Check clearance in the Vulnerable Sector

·      Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license

·      Reliable vehicle and the ability to travel between facilities and other locations for training sessions on an occasional to frequent basis

·      Certificates in First Aid, CPR, ASIST, MHFA, and Naloxone considered an asset

·      Experience with education and training systems/services (Moodle preferred)

·      Experience working in the Community Services Sector considered an asset

·      Strong communication skills to engage with employees, community members, and external partners

·      Professional demeanor in representing the organization during training sessions and external engagements

·      Commitment to continuous learning and improvement in educational practices

·      Ability to maintain consistent professional boundaries

·      Proficient in learning management systems (LMS)

·      Familiarity with multimedia educational tools and technologies

·      Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, particularly PowerPoint and Excel

·      Ability to set up venues and manage logistics for training sessions

·      Ability to be regularly exposed to individuals who are struggling with and/or recovering from trauma, drug/alcohol use, homelessness, mental health challenges and/or mental illness
