POSITION SUMMARY

The EDI/Planning Coordinator is responsible for providing professional and reliable service while supporting the team in achieving JEC’s key objectives with customers and suppliers. This role requires a thorough understanding of customer and supplier requirements, as well as JEC’s Business Management System (BMS) policies and processes, ensuring alignment with company standards for Safety, Morale, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Environment. The position demands adaptability, proactive communication, and a commitment to continuous improvement, with performance measured against departmental business plan targets. It also offers opportunities for professional growth and preparation for future roles within the organization.

SUMMARY

Oversee inbound orders, Firm and forecast orders, customs and shipping requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Manage daily planning activities and oversee the EDI department.
  2. Coordinate and forecast incoming orders to align with production schedules.
  3. Communicate and coordinate customer-driven overtime requirements.
  4. Manage customs documentation and compliance for all shipments.
  5. Resolve customs and duty-related issues for inbound and outbound logistics.
  6. Handle special and exceptional order requests efficiently.
  7. Set up new parts and update part parameters in the ERP system.
  8. Manage internal and customer-owned packaging requirements.
  9. Coordinate service orders through all necessary production steps (Capacity Management System → Team Leaders → MS → Weld).
  10. Schedule and manage welding/stamping, outsourced parts, and steel orders.
  11. Forecast production fluctuations, new model launches, and build-outs.
  12. Conduct inventory analysis and implement corrective actions as needed.
  13. Ensure readiness for all internal and external audits.
  14. Maintain accurate and complete documentation.
  15. Complete problem logs and follow up on corrective actions in a timely manner.
  16. Monitor KPIs daily, weekly, and monthly, and escalate issues per protocol.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversees EDI/ Planning and Cycle count Associates in the Materials Department. Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent/relevant experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Inventory software, Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software, and Microsoft Outlook Email software.
