Camp-In Education Program Assistant (Part-Time)
Maryland Science Center is seeking an exuberant and diligent team member to assist with coordinating and facilitating our daytime workshops and overnight experiences. Answer inquiries, manage group registrations, and teach fun, hands-on workshops. Assist in training new staff. Ideal candidates will be detail-oriented, able to work independently, have excellent customer service skills, and have a desire to share fun and exciting STEAM programming with guests of all ages.
Basic Functions:
- Process program registrations
- Answer phone and email inquiries
- Prepare and maintain program materials
- Teach workshops for scout groups and families and assist in training new staff
- Help set-up evening events
- Communicate with volunteers
Knowledge of:
- Basic computer programs including Microsoft Office Suite
- Basic science concepts
- Scout program knowledge is preferred

Abilities:
- Work without direct supervision as necessary
- Ability to troubleshoot problems/difficulties

Positions Supervised: No direct supervision
Supervision Received: Immediate supervision received from Education Manager: On-Site STEM Programs
Education:
A.A. degree or directly related work experience required.
B.S. degree in science, education, or another related field preferred.
Experience:
Requires one year of experience in the presentation of informal, educational programming. Administrative or event planning experience preferred.
Compensation: $16.00/hour

Hours: 12-16 hours a week over 2-3 days. Some weekend and evening hours are required based on program schedule.
