Early Elementary Curriculum Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY

The Early Elementary Curriculum Coordinator is responsible for ministering to volunteers, children and families in our community by providing them with curriculum, activities, and leader guides that reinforce the biblical lessons and concepts taught in the CBC Kids Ministry. This role specifically focuses on the development and preparation of crafts and activities for the Early Elementary age group.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Planning/preparing age-appropriate curriculum for regularly scheduled Early Elementary Weekend services in an effort to meet the vision of the CBC Kids Ministry
  • Assist in the planning/preparing age-appropriate curriculum for regularly scheduled Kids Club Elementary classes in an effort to meet the vision of the CBC Kids Ministry
  • Train and equip Early Elementary staff and volunteer leaders to use curriculum as a way for children to understand biblical principles
  • Research and implement cutting-edge curriculum ideas and innovations
  • Assess the effectiveness of the curriculum through feedback from staff and volunteer leaders
  • Recruit, train, and schedule curriculum prep volunteer teams
  • Build, run, and equip weekly prep teams to ensure successful completion of necessary tasks and materials needed to facilitate Kids programming
  • Actively engaging in discipleship with staff, parents, and/or volunteers within the Kids Ministry
  • Supervising classrooms/groups as required by the Kids team (to include: Weekends, Weeknights, and Special Events)
  • Attend classes, workshops, conferences, courses and other training opportunities for personal or professional growth outlined and approved by the Director to include the required annual training hours per licensing
  • Attend all staff meetings – scheduled or called
  • Volunteer/serve as needed for both Easter and Christmas Team CBC weekends
  • Other duties as assigned

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a regular part-time position(24-29hours). Weekend services are a required part of this job’s scheduled hours and flexible weekday hours available

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to do the following:

  • Must have good or corrected vision as well as effective peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Must have good manual dexterity and be able to use repetitive motion of the hands and arms
  • Must be able to frequently and effectively communicate in both written and verbal form
  • Must be able to frequently lift children up to 75 pounds • Occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, bending, and crouching
  • Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of CBC

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) + years related work or volunteer experience
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) & First Aid required

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Duties are performed in a ministry setting with occasional outside events/activities that require prolong standing. The environment may be fast-paced and hectic at times. Therefore, it is essential that the employee can effectively handle the normal anxieties associated with the job and manage multiple activities in a ministry setting.
