Purpose

Responsible for all plant control systems (electrical & instrumentation)

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret analog, digital and Profibus equipment schematics, system network diagrams, plans, blueprints, electrical wiring diagrams, schematics and one-line drawings.
  • Read and interpret recording charts, gauges, and other process instrumentation.
  • Understand ladder logic and able to manipulate via PLC software for troubleshooting purposes.
  • Learn the operation of special-purpose scientific measuring devices and correct malfunctions and sources of error.
  • Work with hand tools and test instruments.
  • Work and communicate with operations and maintenance personnel.
  • Create, maintain and update records on all process control devices and motors.
  • Prepare detailed repair reports.
  • Be able to work Shift Work.
  • Respond to emergency calls.
  • Work while standing on a ladder.
  • Perform elevated work over twenty (20) feet above ground.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Work outside under all weather conditions.
  • Work in heavy traffic.
  • Distinguish colors used in electric wiring color-coding.
  • Set priorities and meet deadlines.

 

Skills & Abilities

·         Provide support, coaching and training to operations technicians for process control issues.

·         Ability to work in a team environment required.

·         Solid written and verbal communication skills.

·         Excellent organizational skills.

·         Manage multiple priorities based on business requirements.

 

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in the design and/or maintenance of process instrumentation and control equipment, including computer equipment.
  • 5 years’ experience in the maintenance and repair of instrumentation, and electrical systems.
  • Reliability experience in the areas of electrical and instrumentation.
  • Experience designing and implementing electrical and instrumentation solutions.
  • Experience creating continuous and batch control strategies to produce world-class solutions.
  • Experience with control loop tuning and process optimization.
  • Experience with Siemens PCS7 and TI 505/Win CC control systems.
  • Problem-solving abilities related to systems and operational issues.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and system support skills.
