Dozer Operator

LaPlace, Louisiana Full-time $18.00-$20.00/hour
A dozer operator, also known as a heavy equipment operator, operates a bulldozer to move and level materials at construction sites and other industrial operations. Their responsibilities include: 
  • Operating the dozer: Using the tractor and the shovel or blade on the front of the vehicle to move soil, rocks, and debris 
  • Following instructions: Receiving guidance from a foreman or site supervisor 
  • Maintaining safety: Following safety procedures and guidelines 
  • Performing maintenance: Performing routine maintenance and basic repairs on the equipment 
  • Reading blueprints: Interpreting blueprints, maps, and drawings to determine work requirements 
Communicating: Collaborating with other team members to ensure project success 
Keeping records: Completing daily logs and reports to track equipment usage and maintenance 
Dozer operators may also operate other types of heavy equipment, such as backhoes, dump trucks, or excavators.
