Dorm Parent

Do you want to make a difference in the life of a teenager?  Do you have the desire to be a leader and a mentor?  We are seeking a responsible, positive, hard working role model with a passion for working closely with middle and high school students to provide transformative experiences in a boarding school setting.

LCA Dorm Parents participate in supervision of student activities, out-of-town trips, transportation, and essential functions of the dorm program. They work with dorm leadership to create a safe, healthy and positive environment that fosters a culture of academic excellence, social and spiritual growth, and authentic Christian community.  This is half-time position during the academic year that includes housing and two meals per day. Most shifts are during afternoons, evenings and/or weekends, so this job is a good complement to graduate studies or other part-time employment.

Responsibilities include:

• Participate in the daily life of the students including meal time and evening study hall.

• Provide active supervision of students including nights, weekends and holidays.

• Complete necessary paperwork and duty reporting for scheduled shifts.

• Track students through the REACH software - a student location software.

• Participate in the planning and executing activities for the students on weekends and holidays.

• Participate in daily transporting of students to and from the LCA main campus, airport runs and day trips.  Dorm Parents  must possess a valid driver’s license, be a safe and responsible driver,  and have a clean driving record.
