Donor Relations and Events Assistant
New Orleans Museum of Art is seeking applicants for the position of Donor Relations and Events Assistant. The Donor Relations and Events Assistant serves as a member of the museum’s development and fundraising team. This position reports to and supports the Director of External Relations with all aspects of event development and implementation and assists with stewardship efforts and will report to the Development and Membership Manager regarding stewardship and acknowledgements for NOMA donor gifts.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists with the direction of volunteers, planning, execution, and follow-up for all major fundraising events including event floorplans, internal and external logistics as well as event memos.
Acts as liaison between NVC steering committee and fundraising committees such as Art in Bloom Committee, Egg Hunt Committee, Salon Supper Club Committees, Love in the Garden Committee and between Steering Committee and the Garden Study Club of New Orleans.
Assists with the supervision of members of the NVC steering committee on all NVC fundraising events and activities.
Works with marketing staff to implement, update and develop marketing and public relations materials (event websites, evites, print invitations, programs, signage, etc.)
Coordinate and assist with event solicitation with development staff and volunteer committees.
Writes, edits, and mails solicitation and acknowledgement letters for all fundraising events as well as Development Department donor gifts.
Manages organizational and donor contact information in Tessitura and Tessitura constituent reporting
Responsible for the preparation, coordination, logistics, and follow-up for all event committee meetings
May undertake special projects as requested by management.
Performs other duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in any from an accredited university, 2-4 years’ development and special event experience. Experience in using Word, Excel and a CRM database, Tessitura experience highly desirable.

Good verbal, listening, and written communication skills
Ability to work well with a wide range of people
Dependability through good attendance and adherence to timeliness.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Proficiency in Word, Excel and Tessitura
Ability to work well under pressure
Ability to handle multiple deadlines and tasks
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires the following physical activities:
Must be able to remain in a stationary period for extended periods of time.
Occasionally move about inside the office to assist with event setup.
Frequently moves boxes and/or art weighing up to15 pounds
