Dog Handler (Kennel/Animal Care Attendant)

Join Our Team as a Canine Handler!

The Dog Stop® is looking for enthusiastic Canine Handlers to join their team. Knowledge of the dog care industry is a plus but not required provided the candidate is capable of quickly learning the ins and outs of dog behavior and our range of services. We do require a positive attitude, outgoing personality, dedication to providing an unparalleled experience for our clientele, and, of course, a love of dogs.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Supervising and directing safe and positive play: Overseeing dog interactions in playgroups, ensuring a safe and fun environment, and managing dog behavior using positive reinforcement techniques.   
• Maintaining a clean and healthy environment for guests: Cleaning and sanitizing play areas, kennels, and other facility spaces, following established protocols to prevent the spread of illness, and ensuring a hygienic environment for all dogs.
• Clear communication with shift managers: Providing regular updates on dog behavior, any incidents or concerns, and communicating effectively to ensure smooth shift transitions and efficient team operations.
• Ensuring guests and their owners feel comfortable and are receiving the level of service they’ve come to expect from The Dog Stop®: Providing exceptional care to all dogs, addressing owner inquiries or concerns with professionalism and empathy, and creating a welcoming and positive experience for every customer.   
• Customer Service: Greeting clients warmly, assisting with check-in and check-out procedures, taking reservations, and providing information about our services and policies with a friendly and helpful demeanor.
• Facility Tours: Guiding prospective clients through our facility, showcasing our amenities and services, highlighting our safety and cleanliness protocols, and answering any questions to promote our business and build trust with potential customers.
• Contributing to a positive team environment: Collaborating with team members, assisting with tasks as needed, maintaining a positive attitude, and fostering a supportive and respectful workplace.
