The District Operations Specialist covers Peterborough City & County, North Grenville, Brockville, Renfrew, Prescott, Napenee, and Kingston.
Job Responsibilities
- Effectively communicate with customers (Municipal/Commercial) to schedule services and resolve service issues;
- Ensuring that accurate information is entered into Navusoft (software) on a continual basis;
- Communicating with maintenance on repairs of trucks, equipment and bins and monitor completion
- In conjunction with Route Supervisors schedule and re-route according to equipment and driver availability;
- Verifying all routes are completed via Geotab as they are completed by end of day;
- Ensuring a working daily inventory check is completed on all containers and locations are updated in Navusoft;
- Scheduling trucks for repairs as needed, make arrangements for drivers to drop-off and pickup, work with Maintenance team to complete tasks;
- Updating routes to reflect changes in customers or service requirements daily;
- File DVIR sheets as per MTO requirements; check and monitor safety and compliance issues or changes in regulations or company policy;
- Verifying disposal reports with Navusoft entries (enter if missing) on daily basis and review, ensuring disposal tickets match invoicing;
- Entering/Verifying diesel fuel volumes in Navusoft daily;
- Liaise with Customer Service and Supervisors ensuring all service complaint/requests are responded to and proper information is captured in Navusoft;
- Providing regular updates to customers on route completion progress as required;
- Checking in with drivers at the end of day collecting keys, tablets, associated paperwork;
- All other duties assigned by manager;
- This role has a salary range of $60,000 - $65,000 per year.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years previous experience working in a related office/administrative role supporting different locations;
- Supervisory experience an asset;
- Experience and knowledge of the waste management or transportation industry an asset;
- Dispatch experience would be an asset;
- Experience with data entry and the generation of reports;
- Ability to perform under tight deadlines;
- Experience providing customer service and the ability to act with diplomacy and professionalism;
- Strong computer skills, especially with Microsoft applications;
- Ability to multi-task and shift priorities as necessary;
- A friendly personality combined with a “roll-up your sleeves and get it done attitude”!
