Transportation Dispatcher

Econo-Courier is a family owned same day rush trucking / courier company in business for over 50 years. We provide expeditied delivery, trucking, logistics and warehousing services to businesses in the Northeast region.

Duties will include:

• Answering customer calls and emails, entering delivery information into the dispatch system, dispatching jobs to drivers and monitoring the 25-30 drivers for expedited deliveries using cars, cargo vans, straight trucks and tractor trailers
• Heavy customer contact through order entry from telephone and email for delivery orders and general client assistance
• Miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor
• Warehouse duties include periodic forklift use to load and unload trucks and moving pallets of freight within the warehouse

Our ideal dispatcher / customer service representative / warehouse assistant will be:

• Experience: Previous dispatching, customer service, forklift experience preferred. 
• Familiarity with the metropolitan NY/NJ area
• Good communicator: Strong customer service skills (both written and verbal) is a priority
• Computer skills: Must be familiar with MS Office / Google Office and be able to learn new software
• Detail Oriented and Organized: Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and keep information organized and enter data accurately into computer.  Able to track details and determine priorities
• Team Player: Strong people skills.  Helpful and friendly to the customers, drivers and fellow employees
