Job purpose

 The Dishwasher is responsible for keeping the kitchen, utensils, dishes, and tools clean and orderly.

 Duties and responsibilities 

  • Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and/or pans using dishwashers or by hand
  • Clean garbage cans
  • Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in clean and orderly condition
  • Place clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in storage areas
  • Sort and remove the trash, placing it in designated pickup areas
  • Sweep and scrub floors
  • Load or unload trucks that deliver or pick up food and supplies
  • Assist with receiving and storing supplies
  • Stock supplies such as food and utensils in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and salad bars
  • Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas, by hand or using hand trucks
  • Any other tasks assigned

 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Must be 15+ years old
  • Ability to take direction and perform duties efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to communicate clearly and politely with guests and employees alike
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • A professional, positive, and enthusiastic attitude
  • Good interpersonal skills

 

Working conditions

The Dishwasher position is based primarily inside, but may also be outside exposed to temperature extremes (above 85 degrees and below 20 degrees), sun and wind exposure, inclement weather (rain, snow, ice) and high altitudes (10,500+ feet). 

 

Physical requirements

Must be able to walk on even/uneven/slippery terrain, climb/descend even/uneven/slippery terrain, climb/descend stairs, stand and/or sit for long periods of time, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift objects that may be heavy.
