Dish Job Summary: 

Dish is responsible for accomplishing daily kitchen tasks and responsibilities as delegated, ranging from: dish, cleaning, food prep, production, quality control, customer service and general contribution to the overarching success of the kitchen. The dish position reports directly to the General Manager. Success in this role requires excellent teamwork, good listening skills and an ability to gainfully contribute to the success of the business.
       

Dish Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Summary of Position:  

  • Responsible for washing/cleaning all restaurant and theatre smallwares, tools, equipment and washable items.
  • Clean and maintains facility including floors, exhaust filters and systems as directed, dish washing equipment & surrounding dish / kitchen area in a professional and friendly manner according to guidelines and standards 
  • Removal of all trash & garbage. This includes the clearing and maintenance of trash storage areas both indoors and outdoors. 
  • Responsible for the accurate receiving, proper storage and required documentation of goods/products into restaurant.  This includes expediting necessary returns to vendors in an accurate and timely manner.

Dish Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides restaurant and theatre staff with clean and sanitized, china, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, utensils, smallwares and equipment. 
  • Washes plateware, glassware, silverware, pots, pans and kitchen utensils according to sanitation and cleaning procedures 
  • Return all clean items in a timely prompt manner to there appropriate location.
  • Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with company policies and standards
  • Ensures all smallwares, production tools and catering supplies are sanitized and available as needed
  • Keeps sanitation solutions & equipment up to company standards at all times
  • Maintains daily cleanliness and maintenance of dish machine
  • Keeps kitchen areas clean by sweeping, mopping floors, wiping walls, countertops, and emptying trash throughout shift
  • Trouble-shoots dishwasher machine malfunctions
  • Complete specific cleaning and maintenance projects assigned by supervisor and production manager 
  • Assist restaurant and theatre team within restaurant as assigned by production manager
  • Keeps production manager promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance 
  • Reports any health and/or safety concerns immediately to the production manager
  • Follow restaurant opening “start of day†and closing “end of day†shutdown procedure for dish station/machine and receiving/shipping area 
  • Complete all assigned start of shift, end of shift and on going sidework and checklists and logs
  • Performs end-of-shift and closing duties effectively and efficiently 
  • Expediently, receives goods into restaurant and theatre facility confirming accurate quality and quantity.
  • Accurately and timely returns or ships goods from restaurant and theatre in an accurate and timely manner.  
  • Ensures all documentation for goods received and shipped are accurately maintained and tracked as needed according to company standards
  • Positively interacts with vendors and all delivery and shipping personal in an efficient, professional and friendly manner according to company standards.
  • Provides a favorable image of company at all times to promote its objectives and enhance public recognition of all its areas of endeavor
  • Maintain professional uniform and personal hygiene standards at all times.
  • Attends all informational and team building meetings
  • Performs all other duties, as assigned.

Dish Qualifications: 

  • Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of the restaurant’s trading area.       
  • A dedication to excellent customer service, a strong working knowledge of food safety, and a brisk working pace.
  • Ability to receive and maintain inventory, which involves routinely lifting heavy boxes on a daily basis. 
  • Highly organized professional working ethic, with a solid hands-on approach. 
  • Possess an entrepreneurial spirit, an open mind and a strong desire to work within and develop deeper knowledge within the specialty foods arena.  
  • Enthusiasm for helping others whether it is the customers and neighborhood we serve in or fellow teammates.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 6 hours). 
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
