Job Description

The  Discipline Coordinator is a critical teammate on the culture team. The  Discipline Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to respond to student behavior. This will happen through the management of systems across the school, and through the creation of meaningful interventions to build student capacity to make strong, future-ready decisions. The  discipline coordinator builds strong relationships with students and champions family engagement to develop partnerships between the school and families to support the success of students.

 

Key Responsibilities

Student Behavior Management

  1. Plan, schedule, and facilitate conflict resolution and restorative circles between students within 24 hours of initial report
  2. Facilitate reset conversations with students pulled out of class in order to return them to the learning environment as soon as possible
  3. Coordinate and facilitate lunch reflection with teacher and school leadership teams

 

Family Engagement

  1. Coordinate with families to design meaningful interventions that support students in meeting expectation set by school, family, and self
  2. Facilitate communication between families, counselor, and teaching team related to unmet student needs

 

Administrative Responsibilities

  1. Maintain accurate records of conflict resolution, agreements, and commitment letters
  2. Maintain accurate groupings and records in FOCUS and other student behavior platforms
  3. Maintain accurate records of student behavior intervention plans that are accessible to families and teaching team
  4. Maintain strong tracking systems for student incentives and rewards
