Position Summary
The Area Sales & Marketing Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of sales,
marketing, and revenue generation across assigned hotels. This role requires a blend of
direct selling, business development, social media marketing, and event planning. The
ideal candidate is a results-driven leader with experience in hospitality sales, digital
marketing, and customer engagement.

Duties and Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
• Lead proactive sales efforts, identifying new business opportunities across various
markets.
• Develop and execute strategic outreach plans to secure group and transient
bookings.
• Maintain an active pipeline of prospects and document all sales efforts in CRM
systems like Delphi.
• Conduct property sales calls, area blitzes, prospecting, and networking events to
drive revenue.
• Collaborate with hotel teams to optimize revenue strategies and increase market
share.
• Support sales teams at assigned properties with client relations, negotiations, and
contract execution.
Digital Marketing & Social Media
• Develop and implement digital marketing campaigns to drive engagement and
direct bookings.
• Oversee content creation for social media platforms, ensuring brand consistency
across properties.
• Monitor social media performance, responding to guest interactions and online
reviews.
• Manage OTA listings, ensuring accurate content, pricing, and visibility.
• Utilize SEO strategies, paid digital ads, and local partnerships to boost online
presence.
Community Engagement & Events
• Identify and participate in local networking opportunities, community events, and
trade shows.
• Develop unique, brand-aligned events to increase hotel exposure and attract target
audiences.
• Foster relationships with local businesses, influencers, and tourism boards to drive
referral business.
• Assist in the coordination of on-property promotions, activations, and loyalty
programs.
Revenue Management & Performance Tracking
• Work closely with Revenue Management to analyze key performance metrics and
adjust sales/marketing strategies accordingly.
• Track sales efforts, campaign results, and market trends to optimize future
initiatives.
• Provide leadership with regular reports on progress, challenges, and opportunities
for improvement.
Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, or related field
preferred.
• Experience:
o 3+ years of experience in hospitality sales, business development, or digital
marketing.
o Previous experience managing multi-property sales or marketing efforts
preferred.
• Skills & Competencies:
o Strong knowledge of sales techniques, CRM tools (e.g., Delphi), and revenue
management strategies.
o Proficiency in social media marketing, SEO, and digital advertising platforms.
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
o Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal
teams and hotel leadership.
o Strong organizational and project management skills to handle multiple
initiatives simultaneously.
• Flexibility to travel between assigned properties as needed.
