Director of Sales
Job Summary: As the Director of Sales for a hotel company, your primary responsibility is to oversee and maximize sales across all properties within the organization. You will lead a team of sales professionals, collaborate with hotel management, and implement strategies to increase market share and achieve financial targets. This role requires a deep understanding of the hotel industry, strong leadership skills, and a strategic mindset to drive business success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and execute the sales strategy for the hotel company, aligning with overall business objectives.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify new opportunities and market trends.
- Set sales targets, establish performance metrics, and monitor progress towards goals.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Recruit, train, and supervise a team of sales professionals, providing guidance and support to achieve sales targets.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify areas for improvement.
- Foster a collaborative and results-oriented work environment, promoting teamwork and a customer-centric approach.
- Sales and Marketing Initiatives:
- Collaborate with marketing teams to develop and execute promotional campaigns, advertising strategies, and digital marketing initiatives.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including corporate accounts, group bookings, and partnerships.
- Participate in industry events, trade shows, and networking activities to build relationships and enhance brand visibility.
- Performance Analysis and Reporting:
- Monitor sales performance and market trends using data analysis tools and reporting systems.
- Generate regular reports and presentations to communicate key performance indicators and sales strategies to senior management.
- Conduct competitive analysis to benchmark against industry peers and identify areas for improvement.
- Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain relationships with key clients, industry partners, and travel agencies to drive sales.
- Collaborate with hotel general managers and property sales teams to ensure alignment of sales efforts.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business, hospitality, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Proven experience in sales within the hotel industry.
- Strong Marriott and IHG systems knowledge is preferred.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in sales CRM software.
- In-depth knowledge of the hotel industry, market dynamics, and industry best practices.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel to various properties and industry events as needed.
