Director of Nursing - Hospice

Medi-Plex Healthcare is seeking Director of Nursing to manage, supervise, coordinate, evaluate and develop client care teams to ensure quality care delivery and appropriate case management within the agency scope of services and policies; state, federal, and local laws; and Nurse Practice Act.

Responsibilities:

• Directs clinical staff (nurses, therapists, CNAs, Social Workers, and Chaplain) to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and appropriate home care services.
• Develops and implements plans in response to the needs of the team or client service needs.
• Meets with Staff on a weekly basis to provide guidance and information related to specific issues.
• Reviews monthly productivity information of team members.
• As needed, provides on-call back up for staff and perform clinical visits.
• Develops working relationships with other health care professionals in the community/hospitals and families to identify resources available and to ensure access of information to clients.

 Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a current license as a Registered Nurse in the states of Missouri & Illinois.

• Prior supervisory/management experience.
• CPR Certified.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
• Baccalaureate degree in nursing or related field preferred.
• Minimum of two (3) years’ experience in nursing, with a combination of acute care and home health care/hospice preferred.
