Director of Maintenance Position
Position Summary
Sun Porch of Smith County is seeking a dependable and hands-on Maintenance Director to oversee the maintenance and safety of our long-term care facility. This role is responsible for maintaining the building, equipment, and grounds to ensure a safe, comfortable environment for our residents, staff, and visitors.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, and experienced in building maintenance with a strong understanding of safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and repair facility systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and safety checks
- Maintain facility grounds including snow removal, lawn care, and exterior upkeep
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations for long-term care facilities
- Conduct routine fire and safety checks and maintain related documentation
- Coordinate outside vendors and contractors when needed
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and residents
- Maintain maintenance logs and supply inventory
Qualifications
Previous maintenance experience required (healthcare or long-term care preferred)
- Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building repair
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently
- Ability to lift, carry, and perform physical tasks required for facility upkeep
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Must be reliable and able to work independently
