Director of Maintenance Position

Position Summary

Sun Porch of Smith County is seeking a dependable and hands-on Maintenance Director to oversee the maintenance and safety of our long-term care facility. This role is responsible for maintaining the building, equipment, and grounds to ensure a safe, comfortable environment for our residents, staff, and visitors.

 The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, and experienced in building maintenance with a strong understanding of safety standards.

 Key Responsibilities

 Maintain and repair facility systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment

• Perform routine preventative maintenance and safety checks
• Maintain facility grounds including snow removal, lawn care, and exterior upkeep
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations for long-term care facilities
• Conduct routine fire and safety checks and maintain related documentation
• Coordinate outside vendors and contractors when needed
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and residents
• Maintain maintenance logs and supply inventory

Qualifications

 Previous maintenance experience required (healthcare or long-term care preferred)

• Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building repair
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently
• Ability to lift, carry, and perform physical tasks required for facility upkeep
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Must be reliable and able to work independently
