Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Director of Maintenance to oversee the maintenance operations at our Harlem Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. In this role, you will manage the maintenance department, coordinate repair and upkeep activities, and ensure that all systems are operating efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, and evaluate the maintenance operations for the facility.
• Coordinate maintenance services with other departments to ensure smooth facility operations.
• Monitor and manage the department's equipment and supply needs.
• Ensure that all maintenance personnel follow established procedures, safety guidelines, and policies.
• Assist in standardizing maintenance methods and improving efficiency.
• Assist in the recruitment, selection, and training of qualified maintenance staff.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including painting, minor carpentry, electrical work, plumbing repairs, and changing light bulbs.
• Assign work tasks and establish duty schedules for maintenance staff.
• Be available on-call for facility emergencies, ensuring prompt resolution of issues.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 5+ years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role in a maintenance or facility management position.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and maintenance best practices.
• COVID-19 vaccination required.
