About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced Director of IT to lead the technology operations for a fast-paced healthcare environment serving nurse practitioners, physicians, and medical support staff. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in cybersecurity, HIPAA compliance, and cloud-based infrastructure (especially AWS), while also being capable of solving complex technical challenges—chief among them, safely enabling BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) across clinical and non-clinical users.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in cybersecurity, HIPAA compliance, and cloud-based infrastructure (especially AWS), while also being capable of solving complex technical challenges—chief among them, safely enabling BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) across clinical and non-clinical users.
This role requires strategic vision, hands-on leadership, and the ability to translate technology initiatives into secure, scalable, and compliant systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all IT operations including infrastructure, cloud architecture, cybersecurity, help desk, and vendor management.
- Lead the design and implementation of secure systems architecture that meets HIPAA and HITECH compliance standards.
- Develop and enforce IT security policies including encryption, access control, and incident response protocols.
- Manage the integration and support of Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud environments for internal and client-facing systems.
- Design a secure BYOD framework that allows providers and staff to safely access clinical systems via personal devices.
- Partner with compliance and clinical leadership to ensure data privacy, system reliability, and operational continuity.
- Evaluate and deploy emerging technologies to improve system efficiency, patient data security, and provider experience.
- Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals; develop hiring plans, training, and career development strategies.
- Serve as primary point of contact for IT audits, penetration testing, and HIPAA assessments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 7+ years of IT leadership experience, preferably in a healthcare environment.
- Proven experience with HIPAA/HITECH compliance, cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, CIS), and risk management.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS) including EC2, RDS, IAM, and S3.
- Demonstrated ability to securely manage BYOD policies, including mobile device management (MDM) and endpoint security.
- Experience with EHR systems, healthcare APIs, and interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR) is a plus.
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to liaise effectively with both clinical and technical teams.

- CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect
- CHISSP or CHISP (Certified HIPAA Information Security & Privacy Practitioner)
