Location: Midwest (Travel — up to 80%, Cincinnati, Chicago, St. Louis, Kansas City)
Compensation: $125,000 – $140,000 base + 15–20% bonus + travel incentives

About the Role

We’re looking for a Director of Field Services to lead a large, dynamic team of 30+ calibration, instrumentation, and metrology professionals across a broad national footprint. This role isn’t about sitting behind a desk, it’s about leading from the front, working closely with sales and operations leadership, ensuring exceptional service delivery, and keeping teams aligned, engaged and continuously improving.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead & Develop Teams: Manage a geographically dispersed field organization, focusing on people development, engagement, and performance.

  • Drive Operational Excellence: Oversee calibration, instrumentation, and metrology field services — ensuring consistent quality, compliance with GDP and Quality standards, and customer satisfaction.

  • Strategic Collaboration: Partner closely with the Director of Sales to align field execution with client needs, growth goals, and service delivery standards.

  • Budget & Performance Management: Build and manage budgets, track KPIs, control costs, and deliver against operational and financial targets.

  • Change Management & Training: Implement process improvements, develop field training programs, and lead teams through evolving business and client demands.

  • Client & Executive Engagement: Represent the field organization in board-level presentations, client meetings, and strategic planning discussions.

  • Travel & Presence: Expect significant travel (up to 80%) — whether flying across the country or clocking mileage in the field — to stay connected with teams and clients.

What You Bring
  • 10+ years of experience in field service leadership within calibration, instrumentation, or metrology environments.

  • Proven track record managing large, distributed teams across multiple regions.

  • Deep understanding of GDP, Quality Systems, and regulatory compliance.

  • Strong financial acumen — comfortable with budgets, forecasting, and cost management.

  • Skilled communicator who can engage everyone from field techs to board members.

  • Natural coach and leader with experience driving team culture, performance, and change.

  • Willingness to travel extensively (80%) — this is a hands-on, in-the-field leadership role.
