CONSTRUCTION FOREMAN – Drill Crew
RFNOW Inc. is seeking applications from motivated individuals interested in helping lead our crews on our Construction and Maintenance Team. Our Construction Foreman - Drill Crew will demonstrate hands-on leadership for our Drill crews on individual worksites across the region by role-modelling safe and efficient work processes, assigning tasks, providing training, and problem-solving. They will provide day-to-day coaching and guidance to our operators and labourers who are integral in the efficient preparation, construction, and installation of our fibreoptic infrastructure.
General Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities on construction sites to ensure quality and efficient operations, plan to ensure required materials are onsite, manpower requirements, mechanical issues, or work scope changes.
- Inform Superintendent of work activities, issues, workflow, or any issues discovered through daily job planning.
- Mentor new and existing workers on construction best practices and promote a culture of safety.
- Ensure RFNOW and MB/SK OH&S standards, policies and procedures are understood and followed by all employees.
- Facilitate communication with crew members through Toolbox meetings, Safety Memos.
- Ensure all incidents are reported (near misses, property damage, injuries, environmental, etc.) before the end of the shift.
- Complete Safety documents, ground disturbance checklists, maintain locates and draw as-builts.
- Complete and submit daily reports and quality control documents.
- Maintain Crew equipment and vehicles.
- Ensure the entire crew is organized and efficiently working towards daily goals from Hydrovac truck, Hoe, Drill and Clean up.
- Be familiar with and conduct according to RFNOW Inc Policy & Procedures
Qualifications & Experience:
- Previous field construction experience is required.
- Experience with utility locates and working around existing utilities.
- Supervisory experience and knowledge of the telecom industry are both assets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with heavy equipment for underground construction (backhoe, cats, drilling, hydrovac) would be considered an asset but willing to train suitable applicants.
- Must have valid Class 1 or 3 licence.
Requirements
- Ability to lift more than 50lbs.
- Ability to spend majority of day standing and/or walking.
- Willingness and ability to travel Monday to Friday, throughout MB and SK
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to lead and maintain a respectful working environment for your team.
- Willing to work out of town and in remote locations on a regular basis.
Job Details:
- Full time, Monday to Friday
- 100 hours biweekly
- $32.50 - $40/hr depending on experience
