Your new role
You will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of the Operational Readiness Plan for our Windfall project, which is currently in the pre-construction phase, as we look to ensure a seamless transition from the project phase to the operations phase. This role will be accountable for the safe and effective delivery of:
• An operational readiness plan for the project, covering all areas required to successfully operate the asset.
• Define the operations strategies required to mine, process and disposal of waste in a manner that is efficient and compliant with our stakeholder obligations.
• Resourcing plans that provide the capacity and capability to operate the asset, matched to the requirements over time.
• Mine Operating Systems (MOS) to enable the efficient management of work across the asset.
• Development of plans and procedures to support the integrated execution of work across the asset.
• A systems architecture design and implementation to enable technology solutions for the asset.
• A compliance plan that provides for a governance architecture to ensure that our obligations are continuously managed.
This role will require interactions with numerous stakeholders to define the project's integrated operational strategies. Therefore, you will be expected to:
• Create an operational readiness team that is accountable for the implementation of functional plans in support of the transition from project execution to operations.
• Work with global experts to adopt best practices from around the Gold Fields business.
• Work with the Global Asset Optimization team to ensure that the asset is set up to adopt best in class continuous improvement practices.
• Ensure with designers and constructors that the operating strategies are embedded in the asset that is constructed.
• Work with OEM’s and vendors to adopt best in class technologies to ensure that our people return home safely, every day.
• Additionally, you will work with the commissioning team to participate in the definition of the approach to commissioning.
What you'll need to succeed
• 10+ years of operations experience in mining and project management
• Experience in planning, execution, and management of operational readiness processes
• Degree qualified in a relevant discipline (Project management qualifications highly regarded)
• Registered with the Quebec Order of Engineers (OIQ).
• Bilingual (able to communicate with clients and stakeholders in English and French)
• Project management skills in developing scopes, costs and schedules
• Leadership qualities to motivate, guide and continuously align various teams
• Collaborative skills to work with functions and other areas in scope delivery
• Proficient with technology knowledge and IT system integration
