Your new role
You will be responsible for ensuring that robust project control routines, systems, and processes are meticulously implemented to monitor the project's status and ensure compliance with the governance model. You will create and maintain comprehensive project control systems that meticulously track the project's status in terms of costs and schedule.
You will play a crucial role in monitoring and analyzing all project costs, categorized by discipline, work breakdown structure, and work packages, ensuring that trends are identified and addressed promptly. Leading a dedicated team of direct reports, you will oversee cost control, planning, and scheduling functions, ensuring that all aspects of the project are meticulously managed.
You will collaborate closely with the senior project director to establish project budgets, develop detailed work plans, and create precise schedules. You will ensure that all data is communicated accurately and in a timely manner. Your role will be essential in driving the project's success and ensuring that all objectives are met with precision and efficiency.
What you'll need to succeed
• University degree in a relevant field, P.Eng. or OIQ certification preferred.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
• 10+ years in industrial processing or mining processing industry.
• Experience working on major investment projects.
• Deep knowledge and understanding of project management and project control concepts, including estimation, costs, cash flow, scheduling, and earned value management.
• Knowledge of processes and procedures related to mining and construction.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills.
• Ability to develop and manage relationships with a diverse range of professionals in a mining and construction environment.
