Dining Service Night Shift Supervisor
SUMMARY
To supervise the department employees throughout the workday, give guidance and direction as needed and facilitate the service to all residents, guests and staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

· Coordinate food production with the Production Associates to assure that the food quality and service standard is being followed.
· Supervise during meals, helping service staff and aiding with resident and nursing concerns.
· Maintain work schedule of all employees on a daily basis.
· Ensure that the planned menu is followed or that an appropriate communication is given for substitutions.
· Ensure that the resident menu selections, food preferences and other important menu criteria are adhered to at all meals.
· Assures established dietary standards are maintained and call ins personnel replacements and/or adjusts task assignments to assure maximum operating efficiency and strength.
· Maintains work schedules and trains or makes arrangements for required staff training.
· Direct and control assigned operations and information to maintain sound privacy and security practices and prevent privacy or security breaches. If a breach occurs, take corrective action.
· Conduct weekly team meetings, monthly in-services, and training sessions with hourly Dining Services staff.
· Ensure sanitation checklist is completed on a daily basis and approved weekly.
· Responsible for cleanliness of department in all areas.
· Ensure adherence to specific task list as assigned.
SUPERVISORY
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directly supervises General Kitchen
Workers in the Dining Services Department.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the
organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include: training employees, planning, assigning and
directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees,
addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
One year certificate from college or technical school; or one to two years
related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and
experience. Serve Safe Certification
required within 3 months of employment.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret
documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and
procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of
customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest,
commissions, proportions, percentages, area circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra
and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems
involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
