Dim Sum Server

Calgary, AB Part-time

Under the direction of the shift supervisor, the Host-Hostess/Server is responsible for greeting and seating customers within a timely manner. Emphasis must be placed on exceptional customer service, as the Host-Hostess/Server in many instances will be the first contact that our customers will have with an employee. Attention to detail is required for balancing purposes at the start and end of each specified shift.  All necessary precautions are required to ensure the safety and health of customers, and ensure that safe work practices are adhered to at all times. 

Primary Responsibilities

Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service

Accept payment for Dim Sum, as well as assist in describing the menu, seating customers, and when required, assist with clearing tables.

Work diligently with the co-workers in these locations, to ensure timely service. 

Assist customers regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way

Serve all food and beverage items at the assigned work stations

Have full knowledge of beverage and food  menu

Have full knowledge of all menu items being served

Maintaining service areas

Clearing tables and providing quality service to our customers

Responsible to ensure all our customers leave with a positive dining experience

Be aware of all health & safety procedures, including Emergency Evacuation

Follow all safety and sanitation policies, when handling food and beverage

Liaising and communicating effectively with all appropriate operational departments.

Developing & cultivating strong working relationships with all customers & colleagues alike

Performing other duties as assigned or directed by the shift supervisor. 

Perform cash out functions at the end of each shift.

Maintain professional appearance.

May be required to perform opening or closing duties.


Requirements:

Strong verbal communication 

Must be able to speak Cantonese or Mandarin.

Ability to focus attention on customer needs, remaining calm and courteous

Handle customer complaints with professionalism and respect. Inform supervisor of any complaints. 

Patience, teamwork, diplomacy, trustworthy, confidence, works well under pressure.

Minimum 1 year experience as a food and beverage host/cashier or equivalent experience.

Some work with a point of sale system an asset.

This position involves frequent standing and walking and attention to detail during the course of the shift. This position may require heavy lifting weight of up to approximately 25bs. 

AGLC ProServe is required

Must be 18 years of age or older

Must have employment eligibility in Canada

Must be able to work Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Ability to work flexible hours when required
