The Opportunity:

The Digital Literacy Program Assistant will support the Digital Literacy Program Coordinator in the preparation and delivery of group workshops that develop the digital literacy skills and confidence of IRCC-eligible newcomers. The Digital Literacy Program Assistant will oversee the program device inventory, its loaning process as well as responding to emerging basic needs of program clients. The Digital Literacy Program Assistant will support the delivery of client centered and responsive digital literacy programming as well as contribute in the development and uptake of equitable digital inclusion strategies. The Digital Literacy Program Assistant will support the ultimate goal of reducing the expanding digital gap, increasing access and digital literacy for newcomers, guided by the vision of achieving digital democracy in our community.

The key areas of responsibility are:

· Assist Digital Literacy Program Coordinator with all project deliverables to ensure the project meets the set targets

· Assist with collection and tracking of data and information

· Support program participants and volunteers

· Assist digital literacy workshop organization, including but not limited to securing and preparing meeting space, distribution and tracking of devices, participating in the development of workshop curriculum, and other duties as required

· Liaise with clients, volunteers and staff members to better identify needs and gaps

· Assist with recruitment of program participants and volunteers

· Coordinate client referrals by responding to inquiries via phone or email, based on program eligibility and language needs

· Answer client and staff inquiries

· Enter and access data in CRM

· Organize, loan and track devices to ensure full accountability and efficient access to technology.

Qualified candidates will possess:

· Excellent computer and web-navigation skills (advanced knowledge of MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint)

· Strong English communication skills, written and oral

· Ability to communicate effectively with people with varying English proficiencies

· Competency with office equipment, procedures and business communications

· Professional telephone manner and good interpersonal skills

· Ability to work cooperatively within a team and independently

· Excellent organizational and time-management skills

· Recent, relevant experience working in administration or adult education in settlement and refugee support programs and/or non- profits an asset

 A Criminal Record Check is a requirement of employment.
