Purpose of Position

The digital intern will provide support to the Development and Communications department in developing and delivering on-brand, strategic, integrated social media and digital content. The ideal candidate will provide ad hoc support to a variety of team members within the development and communications department of Covenant House Toronto.

Responsibilities:

  • With support and direction from the Integrated Content Manager, help execute Covenant House Toronto’s social media strategy through identified channels.
  • Craft daily social posts, graphics and other creative assets aligned with the agency’s social media strategy.
  • Create and post short relevant impactful multimedia videos for social channels.
  • Support social media efforts for the agency’s annual fundraising events.
  • Support various daily tasks to gather and create content, including photo and media editing.
  • Support the development of our monthly social media content editorial calendar.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience creating, editing and posting social media content.
  • Communications, journalism or equivalent diploma or degree in progress.
  • Creative and nimble approach to social media, with the ability to create on-brand content.
  • Strong writing abilities, and experience tailoring content to specific audiences and channels.
  • Understanding of social media platforms and digital trends and best practices.
  • Comfort in and ability to learn new technologies, including CMS.
  • Some experience analyzing metrics and campaign performance considered a strong asset.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize competing and time-sensitive deadlines.
