Dietary Aide

Dietary Aide often work alongside of Dietitian, Dietary manager and chefs to assist in the preparations and serving of meal, while ensuring dietary needs and restrictions are met. Dietary Aide performs the following duties: 
  • Staying current on the individual procedures and protocols for their facilities, including state-specified rules and regulations
  • Preparing meals, snacks and beverages following specific procedures
  • Serving meals, ensuring food safety and hygiene procedures are followed at all times
  • Taking inventory of kitchen supplies and food items
  • Setting up and taking down dining areas and assisting with kitchen maintenance and general cleaning
  • Wash and sanitize all dishes, utensils and supplied for the following meal
  • Ensure clean trays are matted and silverware wrapped for the following meal
  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

  • Minimum education: High school diploma or currently enrolled
  • Experience: Preferred
  • Ability to work at a fast pace
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Along with physical skills, dietary aide must be compassionate when working with elderly residents, and residents' family members.  

Notes: The Dietary Aide is an important part of the entire operation of the department. Any of the above stated tasks are guidelines and are no inclusive of all duties that may be requested by the supervisor. The dietary Aide will complete any duties as assigned by the supervisor to maintain the department in a clean and sanitary work condition at all times.
