Dietary Aide

- Available Status: Full-Time - Evening (1 pm - 9 pm), weekends and holidays required

Position Objectives
To assist with the preparation and serving of meals to the residents of Park Lane Senior Living. This role ensures that residents receive nutritious, well-balanced meals that meet their dietary needs and preferences. The Dietary Aide works closely with the dietary team to maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen and dining environment.
Education and Training
Must be able to follow oral and written directions. On-the-job training is provided.
Job Requirements
- Must be able to read, write, and speak in English
- Must be able to read resident meal tickets and place the appropriate items on tray accurately
- Set up condiments and beverages accurately
- Know how to correctly operate the dish machine
- Recognize safety hazards or equipment malfunctions and report concerns timely
- Use good judgment when using dietary equipment (e.g., dishwasher, cooking equipment or utensils) for safety and keeping up with the flow of work
- Be able to take meal orders and request verbally and serve residents and staff
- Work under supervision
- Perform routine tasks
- Work well with others in a collaborative environment
Job Responsibilities:
- Providing a dignified dining experience for residents
- Cleaning and disinfection of cookware, and utensils by hand or machine
- Cleaning and disinfection of work stations including kitchen and dining room
- Monitors and documents wash and rinse water temperatures
- Preventive maintenance and cleaning of equipment and drains (ice machine, food drains)
- Transportation of clean, dry dishes to appropriate storage areas
- Meal preparation and tray set up for residents
- Cleaning and stocking of condiments storage
- Drink preparation for residents at meal service
- Proper documentation and record keeping of kitchen/dietary related tasks (dish-machine, meal temperatures, refrigerator temperatures)
- Record tray line food temperatures before and after serving the meal
- Assist with cleaning of dining room tables and condiment holders after meal services
- Alternate cook as needed
- Performs other duties as assisgned
Physical Demands:
Stand and walks short distances most of the day. Reaches, lifts, carries, and stacks cookware and food products (up to 50 pounds)
