As a Dietary Aide at The Harlem Center, you will be part of a dedicated team working to improve the quality of life, health, and comfort of our residents.
Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Dietary Aide to join our team at Harlem Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Harlem, NY. The Dietary Aide will assist in meal preparation, service, and sanitation to ensure that residents receive nutritious, safe, and satisfying meals in a clean and pleasant environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve meals to residents in accordance with established portion control and dietary guidelines.
- Assist in daily cleaning tasks and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas.
- Set up meal trays, food carts, dining rooms, and other meal service areas as directed.
- Help the cook in preparing meals, ensuring food quality and presentation standards are met.
- Distribute and collect menus from residents as necessary.
- Prepare and dispose of food waste according to sanitary guidelines.
- Ensure that all food and supplies for meals are stocked and readily available.
- Assist with inventory and storing of food, supplies, and materials as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- COVID-19 vaccination is required.
Preferred:
- Previous experience in long-term care or a healthcare setting.
