Under supervision of clinic manager, the Dental Hygienist Supervisor provides leadership, support, management, guidance and supervision for the Dental Hygienist team. The supervisor ensures that all day-to-day activities of the Dental Hygienist function operate smoothly and seamlessly. This position is also responsible for assuring that all performance metrics, workload deliverables and customer service activities are completed. Conducts a variety of administrative activities related to the efficient operation of an organizational program and/or department..
2. Monitoring workflows, adjusting workload and staffing requirements to ensure that all activities and phone calls are answered and addressed in a timely and efficient manner.
3. Performs administrative tasks such as work hour scheduling, attendance monitoring and counseling, goal reviews, vacation request and overtime scheduling.
4. Works proactively with the direct staff and internal functional groups to develop creative resolutions to challenging operational and functional issues to ensure the highest level of customer service for our patients.
5. Participates in the hiring process and handles all employee issues for their direct reports
6. Meets periodically with direct reports to assess their performance and progress against goals and is responsible for writing and communicating quarterly and annual performance reviews.
7. Assures that individuals are trained appropriately. Identifies and assigns training needs on an individual basis. Provides continuing education for staff to ensure they perform at their highest level.
8. Acts as a patient advocate, acquainting patients with policies and procedures relevant to their care and helping them navigate the system as necessary. Responds to patient concerns and forwards concerns to clinic manager.
9. Provides excellent customer service to internal and external inquiries regarding information, treatment, and special needs.
10. Provides individualized coordination of care; when necessary, reviews chart to monitor patient clinical progress. Enters relevant information into Axim database.
11. Assesses outcomes of care; analyze complaints to determine trends. Surveys patients via questionnaires; surveys dentists to determine how we can better serve our referring dentists.
12. Audits and reviews patient charts to ensure proper protocol is followed. Determines case status and inactivates, refers, or transfers, as required.
13. Facilitates patient referrals for specialty treatments.
14. Helps to coordinate necessary activities for patients scheduled in the clinics.
15. Meets with clinic manager on a regular basis to assist with patient management.
16. Develop and maintain databases used to collect and analyze data. Monitor and evaluate program operating policies and procedures.
17. Comply with specific department needs to maintain efficient patient database.
18. Manages the patient recall program for the practice.
19. Performs other duties as assigned by clinic manager.

Required Education
Required QualificationsAll candidates must be RDH and, or RDH, BS and CPR Certified and remain certified with renewal every two years thereafter. Registered Dental Hygiene licensure and completion of an accredited Dental Hygiene program required. Excellent oral and written communications skills. Knowledge of enterprise-wide computer applications
