Job Summary:
A deli manager's responsibilities include leading shifts in product handling, creating new menu items, and managing cleanliness and customer service. They must also enforce food handling practices and maintain inventory and also handle customer complaints. They manage kitchen staff, scheduling, and inventory. They also ensure positive customer relationships and provide excellent training for new employees. Additionally, they may be responsible for sanitation, inventory control, and profit and loss reports.

Duties:

-Wash Dishes

- Serve customers on hot line and slice deli meats as needed

- Create, maintain and execute cleaning schedule

- Oversee all deli/bakery operations, including food production, inventory management, and customer service
- Ensure the efficient and effective operation of the deli/bakery by managing staff schedules, assigning tasks, and monitoring performance
- Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as needed to meet production demands
- Develop and implement strategies to maximize sales and profitability
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and sanitary work environment
- Train and mentor deli/bakery staff on proper cooking techniques, food safety protocols, and customer service standards
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and special orders in a professional and timely manner
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate special events or promotions
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff members

Skills:
- Culinary expertise with a strong understanding of cooking techniques and recipes
- Proven experience in inventory control and management
- Excellent shift management skills to ensure smooth operations during peak hours
- Strong knowledge of food production processes and quality control standards
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle customer inquiries and resolve issues effectively
- Previous experience in food service management is required
- Ability to conduct interviews, hire, train, and supervise deli/bakery staff
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
