General Purpose: The Dairy/Frozen Manager has an essential role that supports the Grocery Manager by ensuring that the Dairy and Frozen Foods departments are professionally managed to give customers a positive shopping experience.  

 

Work Schedule: 40+ hours per week, weekend work required.  Overtime may be required.

Responsibilities & Duties: 

  • Team Leadership 

  • Team Development and training 

  • Oversee scheduling and team management when Grocery Manager is not available 

  • Merchandising and display setting 

  • Create orders for merchandise and supplies  

  • Customer Service 

  • Shrink management 

  • Receive, shop and ensure all boat orders are filled correctly  

  • Inventory Control 

  • Cleanliness and Organization of Dairy and Frozen Departments, storage areas, and coolers 

  • Safe use of cleaning equipment and chemicals  

  • Product Freshness Management 

  • The safety procedures used in the operation of the baler, case cutter, pallet jack, forklift, knife, garbage disposal, juicer, pineapple corer, scales and wrapper (must be 18 years or older to operate the pallet jack, forklift, and baler).  

  • Department Maintenance – signs, lights, etc. 

  • The checking of case and cooler temperatures three times daily  

  • Understand and practice store safety rules and notifying a Store Manager of any potential hazard immediately 

  • Compute the retail price from cost, complete price changed—PLU file and scale system maintenance, supervise the manual price marking/labeling of merchandise without a UPA code.  

  • Perform price checks and update prices daily.  

  • Communicate with the Department Manager on problems, recommendations for change, effectiveness of plans and merchandising decisions.  

  • Perform miscellaneous tasks assigned by the Store and/or Grocery Manager, substituting for absent workers and performing any additional tasks necessary to provide products and services to customers during peak periods of business.
