Overview:

We are expanding our cultivation operations at our new indoor facility in Hope, B.C. We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Cultivation Manager – Hope to lead our day-to-day cultivation activities and ensure the highest standards of plant health, yield, and consistency. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations – Hope, with a dotted reporting line to our Director of Cultivation (for strategy and systems), the Cultivation Manager will translate best-in-class cultivation strategies into operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and coach a team of supervisors, leads and operators to achieve daily and weekly production targets.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and teamwork within the cultivation group.
  • Coordinate closely with the Director of Cultivation to implement Integrated Pest Management (IPM), climate, nutritional, and crop strategies.

Cultivation Operations:

  • Oversee all phases of plant production—from clonal propagation and veg to flower and harvest.
  • Maintain and tune environmental controls (lighting, temperature, humidity, CO₂) to optimize growth conditions.
  • Ensure timely execution of nutrient schedules, irrigation protocols, and IPM programs.
  • Monitor plant health and production metrics daily; troubleshoot issues and adjust protocols proactively.

Compliance & Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure all cultivation activities comply with Health Canada regulations, WorkSafeBC standards, and company SOPs.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager, Quality to maintain proper documentation and support internal and external audits.
  • Implement quality-control checkpoints throughout the crop cycle to meet rigorous product standards.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation:

  • Identify and lead trial programs to test new cultivation techniques, substrates, or technologies.
  • Analyze production data and KPIs to drive yield improvements, cost efficiencies, and consistency.
  • Partner with the Director of Operations and Research teams to scale best practices and refine SOPs.
  • Manage execution of new genetic trials at our Hope facility to facilitate genetic development and commercialization of new cultivars.

Resource Management & Budgeting:

  • Develop and manage cultivation budgets, including labor, nutrients, and consumables.
  • Plan resource allocation for each crop cycle, ensuring adequate staffing and materials.
  • Track and report on key cost drivers; recommend corrective actions as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of progressive cultivation experience in a regulated agricultural or horticultural environment.
  • 3+ years in a supervisory or managerial role, ideally within a cannabis or greenhouse facility.
  • Demonstrated expertise with indoor cultivation systems, environmental controls, and IPM strategies.
  • Strong data-driven mindset with proficiency in cultivation tracking tools and reporting.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Plant Science, or a related field (advanced degree an asset).
