Culinary Director & Director of Maintenance

Job Description: We are seeking a dynamic individual to fill the dual role of Culinary Director and Director of Maintenance.  This unique position will oversee both culinary services and maintenance operations within the community, ensuring exceptional service and compliance with all standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Culinary Services:

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive culinary services program that delivers a positive dining experience for residents and guests.
• Supervise the Culinary Services Department, including recruiting, training, and managing team members.
• Plan and execute menu cycles that adhere to nutritional guidelines and local regulations.
• Ensure safe food handling, sanitation of food areas, and proper inventory management.
• Engage with residents to assess food quality and make improvements as needed.

Maintenance Oversight:

• Supervise, recruit, train, and manage the maintenance, housekeeping, and laundry teams.
• Conduct daily inspections of the facility, addressing maintenance and repair needs promptly.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Manage departmental budgets, controlling labor and supply expenses.
• Implement and oversee a preventive maintenance program for all mechanical systems.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Operations and Executive Directors on budget development and departmental strategies.
• Maintain records of equipment warranties, drawings, and compliance documentation.
• Assist with event setups and maintain the overall appearance of the community.
• Participate in required training as mandated by state regulations.

• Proven experience in culinary services and maintenance management.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations, as well as culinary standards.
• Ability to work effectively within budgetary constraints.
