You love to match and experiment with flavour profiles, creating both new and traditional dishes from scratch. WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Work with our kitchen team to create a culinary experience second to none! You’ll support our Head Chef as second in command, keeping the kitchen running smoothly and safely. You’ll ensure that every dish coming from our café tastes damn good and is made with love.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in all aspects of kitchen management, including inventory, food costs, ordering, and supporting the culinary team to create exceptional food experiences.
- Train and mentor team members on quality standards, expectations, food safety protocols, cleaning procedures, and recipe accuracy, leading by example.
- Prepare and assemble food in all kitchen areas, offering assistance to the team as necessary.
- Complete daily checks and prep lists to ensure we meet freshness and quality standards consistently.
- Manage inventory effectively, minimizing food waste while maintaining optimal stock levels.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-5 years of experience in a cook or chef position.
- Proven leadership experience in a kitchen environment.
- A culinary diploma or formal education is an asset.
- Strong ability to deliver outstanding customer service and memorable culinary experiences.
- Food Safe Level 1 or Level 2 certification is an asset.
- Excellent communicator with strong verbal, interpersonal, and listening skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management systems (e.g., Bevspot) and MS Office is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Coffee breaks don’t take a break! We’re open seven days a week and looking for team members with availability flexibility (including weekends and holidays).

ADDITIONAL INFO
- This is a full-time, permanent role offering 32-40 hours per week. Scheduling aligns with operating hours and will require flexibility – this includes weekends, holidays, and peak summer times.
