Corporate Controller

Company Overview:

Skinner Overlook/Tomasi Nurseries is a professional landscape company located in Weymouth and Pembroke, Massachusetts. We are seeking an experienced Corporate Controller to lead our accounting and financial reporting functions. This individual will play a key role in ensuring financial integrity and supporting strategic financial initiatives.

Position Overview:

The Corporate Controller will oversee the accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance functions. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to communicate financial information effectively to the owner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including general ledger accounting, accounts payable/receivable processes, payroll, and revenue recognition.

• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.

• Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities.

• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.

• Coordinate and manage external audits and tax filings.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;

• 8+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, with at least 3 years in a management position.

• Service industry experience a plus

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
