Coordinate or design fun and engaging curricula that 

  • focuses on biblically sound, age-appropriate content for children from birth to 5th grade

  • develops spiritual formation 

  • promotes community building

through the BridgeKids ministry at the Columbia, Owings Mills-Reisterstown, and online campuses.

Duties, Responsibilities, and Requirements

  • Volunteer Team Development & Support

    • Clearly convey strategic vision and purpose of the BridgeKids ministry to motivate and mobilize adult volunteer leadership teams

    • Clearly convey BridgeKids leadership team goals and expectations

    • Create opportunities to build 1:1 and team relationships

    • Empower adult volunteer leadership to provide Biblically based instruction

    • Equip team leads to support the church’s overarching vision and church-wide ministry efforts

    • Directly supervise classroom management and volunteer oversight

    • Recruit, interview, train adult and student volunteers in their serving roles

    • Disciple volunteers in their spiritual growth and development

    • Maintain regular and timely communications through church communication channels

  • Strategic Planning and Support

    • In conjunction with the BridgeKids leadership team, 

      • directly monitor the delivery of educational content and programming

      • ensure thorough creation and implementation of all children ministry initiatives 

    • Source and procure educational teaching tools and supplies

    • Responsibly steward resources to achieve BridgeKids’ educational goals

    • Maintain regular and timely communications through church communication channels

  • Services Management

    • In conjunction with BridgeKids Leadership team,

      • Ensure student safety protocols are implemented during Sunday services

      • Create a welcoming environment for families and volunteers

      • Lead and support Sunday volunteer teams

      • Steward ministry spaces, equipment, and supplies

      • Maintain knowledge of BridgeKids Policies and Procedures

Special Projects & Stewardship

  • Attend weekly 1:1 meetings with BridgeKids Director

  • Attend weekly BridgeKids Leadership team meetings 

  • Attend monthly BCC staff meetings 

  • Hold regular meetings with volunteer team leads

  • Assist with BridgeKids special events

    • Team training, fellowships, holiday programming, etc.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong ability to recruit, lead, and develop volunteers

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication

  • Computer proficient

  • High proficiency in use of Canva

  • Relationship and team-oriented

  • Organized

Supervisory Responsibility

This role will oversee BridgeKids volunteer teams at the Columbia and Owings Mills-Reisterstown campus

Work Environment

This role uses standard office equipment including but not limited to computers, phones, and copiers.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform standard physical actions. The actions include but are not limited to, standing/walking, speaking/listening, reaching/grabbing, and typing. The position also lends itself to occasionally lifting up to 20lbs.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • Exempt, full-time, maximum of 40 hours a week.

  • The current work week is Tuesday–Friday and Sunday.

Travel

The position is primarily located at the Columbia campus, with occasional travel between the Columbia campus and the Owings Mills-Reisterstown campus.

Education and Experience

  • Church, ministry experience

    • preferably with children and/or BridgeKids

  • Prior experience working with children
