Cooling Tower Mechanic
Chesapeake Systems’ Good Tower Group is a premier provider of cooling tower services, specializing in installation, maintenance, and repair of cooling towers for commercial and industrial clients.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cooling Tower Mechanic to join our team and help us continue delivering top-quality service to our customers in the Baltimore / Washington D.C. area!
Main Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and rebuilds on various makes and models of cooling towers.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, structural, and operational issues in cooling towers.
- Install and replace cooling tower components, including motors, fans, gearboxes, belts, bearings, sheaves, drive shafts, couplings, and fill media.
- Conduct complete cooling tower refurbishments, including basin repairs, drift eliminator replacements, and water distribution system upgrades.
- Balance and align rotating equipment such as fans and motors to ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct inspections and provide recommendations for preventive maintenance and necessary repairs.
- Operate and maintain service vehicles, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Cooling Tower Mechanic or similar mechanical trade.
- Strong knowledge of cooling tower systems, components, and operational principles.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Skilled in the use of hand and power tools required for mechanical repairs.
- OSHA certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Wage Range: $30/hr - $50/hr
